President
The role of the President is two-prong. Internal to the Section, the President runs the monthly executive council (EC) meetings, oversees the appointment of chairpersons of all committees with the approval of the EC, submits an article to the Section newsletter, coordinates all activities and executes the business and policies of the Section between meetings, develops the Annual Report and ensures the Treasurer submits the annual Financial Report for the section. The President is also the public face for the Section to SWE National, to other Sections and to the community. She promotes the programs of her Section and actively tries to establishes ties with local companies.

Vice President of Career Guidance
The purpose of the office of the Vice President -Career Guidance is to manage and oversee all of the Career Guidance outreach activities in which the section participates. Since the section is involved in numerous activities, it is necessary for the Vice President to obtain volunteers to chair committees that will oversee each individual activity.

Vice President of Member Services
The role of the VP Member Services is to oversee and manage Professional Development Programs for the section. Typically there is one program per month. Typical Responsibilities include: Deciding on program topics, finding speakers, seminar location, menu, advertising programs, tech support, making sure the program runs smoothly.

Vice President of Community Outreach
The Vice President -Community Outreach manages and oversees the Community Outreach activities in which SWE-SCV participates. Because the section is involved in numerous community outreach activities, it is necessary for the Vice President to obtain volunteers to chair committees that will oversee each individual activity (i.e. Science Fair, Get SET, Speaker’s Bureau, etc…). The Community Outreach VP is also required to be a member of the SWE-SCV section during their office term.

Treasurer
The treasurer position is a key position in our executive council (EC). The treasurer will need to provide monthly status on the budget to the EC and will be responsible for timely handling of reimbursements for expenses incurred throughout the year.

Secretary
The main duties of the Secretary are to maintain records of proceedings during Executive Council meetings, update the Officer Roster, and collect and forward mail and email sent to SWE-SCV. The Secretary may complete other tasks as well required by the Executive Council.

The section representative represents our section at the various required conferences and vote on issues that SWE will look at. Duties include attending various SWE conferences and EC meetings.
